ADAM'S BOOKS
456 BERGEN ST., BROOKLYN
an email from ADAM THE UNNAMEABLE:
January Summer

Hello Everybody,

What lovely weather we've been having!

(Reports have been coming in that strangers are stopping each other on the street outside the store, and drawing the following graph in the air with their hands:**

llllllllllllllllllllllll00llllllllllllll/
lllllllllllllllllllllll00llll0llllll/
llllllllllllllllllllll0000llllll/
lllllllllllllllllllll00000ll/
_/^\_/^\_/^\_/^\_/^\_/

The good news is that, while that troublesome little basketball arena they're building around the corner may someday be underwater, this here Bergen Street is on high enough ground that Adam's Unnameable Books will afford visitors an excellent view of both Ratner Lagoon and Gowanus Beach.)

But that, dear reader, is not why I type you this email.

Rather: I write to inform you, gently and urgently, of the vitality of your local culture, and of these upcoming events:

Nick Piombino, poet, has a new book coming out. It's called ::fait accompli::, and the book party will be at Adam's Unnameable Books. This February 27, at 8 pm. That's a Tuesday.

This is exciting news. For those of you who don't know who Nick Piombino is, you should. You should listen to him reading his work at
http://writing.upenn.edu/pennsound/x/Piombino.html

You should read this illuminating interview:
http://epc.buffalo.edu/authors/piombino/sidereadlity/interview.html

And you should have already been reading his blog, upon which this new book is based, at nickpiombino.blogspot.com

...and, of course, you should come look at, buy, and read his books here at Adam's Unnameable Books.

I have long admired his work, and was quite pleased to discover that he's a customer here. I am even more pleased that we get to host his book party.

Virginia Vitzhum, our most local author (she lives less than one block away), has also written a book. This one is called I Love You, Lets Meet: Adventures in Online Dating.

I haven't read it, but it has a great title. Publishers Weekly says it "leaves no stone unturned" and is "genuinely funny". I am inclined to believe them, having met the author.

The book is coming out on Thursday February 1, and ON THAT VERY SAME DAY, at 8 pm, Ms. Vitzhum will appear and read (aloud) at Adam's Unnameable Books.

I repeat:

THURSDAY FEBRUARY 1, at 8:00 PM:
Virginia Vitzhum, of
I LOVE YOU, LETS MEET:
Adventures in Online Dating,
will unturn no stones at
ADAM'S UNNAMEBABLE BOOKS
(That's 456 Bergen Street, Brooklyn).
Be there then.

The author has written for salon.com, Ms., Elle, and other publications.
She has also written a play and a screenplay.

I, Adam The Unnameable of Adam's Unnameable Books, on TUESDAY FEBRUARY 6, will be reading my poetry with the poets Ann Stephenson and Paul Killebrewat at a Chelsea art gallery.

I believe the reading starts at 6 pm, at ZIEHER SMITH gallery, 533 West 25th Street, in Manhattan.
NOTICE: THE VENUE HAS CHANGED:
Redhead Gallery
Lower Manhattan Cultural Council
125 Maiden Lane, 2nd Floor
NYC 10038
Phone: 212-219-9401

I think that's somewhere in lower Manhattan.

It'll probably finish there, too, if my poetry fails to transform. So feel free to show up late.

Best Wishes,
Adam The Unnameable
