NOT FOR MOTHERS ONLY: CONTEMPORARY POEMS ON CHILD-GETTING AND CHILD-REARING
edited by Catherine Wagner and Rebecca Wolfe
edited by Catherine Wagner and Rebecca Wolfe
By the early 00s both were new mothers, and newly aware of an interesting conundrum: poems about birth, babies, and children didn't seem to get as much cultural and literary play as poems about, say, mowing the lawn, or baseball, or romantic love.I love that.
Poems by Mina Loy, Adrienne Rich, Jean Valentine, Caroline Knox, Anne Waldman, Maureen Owen, Wanda Coleman, Kathleen Fraser, Fanny Howe, Martha Ronk, Bernadette Mayer, Alice Notley, Maxine Chernoff, Alicia Ostriker, Rae Armantrout, Carolyn Forché, Ann Lauterbach, Brenda Hillman, Mei-Mei Berssenbrugge, Thylias Moss, Sharon Olds, Molly Peacock, Kimiko Hahn, Rachel Blau DuPlessis, Akilah Oliver, C.D.
