Google Book Search has begun offering pdfs of public domain works, announced here. You've got to choose Full view books on the search, i.e., I don't see that you can browse or anything, just stab.
People in Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Vermont are less fat than people in California. I didn't know.
Believe it or not (of course you should believe it) Chris Stroffolino is playing tonight at the Ivy Room. I'm going, even though I just learnt it costs $5.
There's a new article on Berkeley booksellers, for which I was one of the "weird" people interviewed, here. It's more or less accurate, the me bit, although the words attributed to me (you know, in quotes) are not mine but kind of imaginatively recreated.

Another great afternoon at SPD, who IN CASE YOU DON'T KNOW ARE NOW ON MYSPACE. I walked with a heavy box three blocks to catch a bus. Caught a bus and rode a bus. Got off a bus and walked around the corner to catch another bus. Got on that bus and sat and drummed my fingers on the box and got off the bus and walked around the corner and into the bookstore.We're so busy here, I don't have time to type this:

Carole and Mitzi, aka Beth Lisick and Tara Jepsen, are shooting a follow-up to their smash short film, Diving for Pearls. Come help them raise some dough!
